Merge Midwest performed a traffic noise study for the proposed David Hoekel Parkway in Wentzville, Missouri, connecting two major thoroughfares. As a new roadway, it qualifies as a Type I project, requiring a traffic noise study to be conducted. Encompassing the David Hoekel Parkway corridor are single-family homes and an elementary school, which are considered noise-sensitive land uses. When built, the roadway will be two lanes (one in each direction) until traffic volumes determine the additional two lanes and median will be needed. The traffic noise study was modeled and analyzed for both two-lane and four-lane scenarios.
