Project Description
Merge Midwest was part of the HDR team that completed traffic signal optimizations for multiple interchanges along Route 364, Route 64, and I-70 in the Saint Louis, Missouri area. These corridors are shorter than a typical corridor with approximately two-to-three signals interconnected through each interchange. Merge Midwest’s responsibilities included the development and calibration of the Synchro® signal timing models; calculation of the pedestrian and vehicle clearance times; signal optimizations; plan and schedule development; and assisting with the technical report.
The analysis and calculations provided by Merge Midwest resulted in optimized traffic signals that allow for efficient movement through the interchanges and are timed to work with the adjacent signals to the interchanges maintained by the local agencies.
